Congratulations to the year 6 children that passed their bikeability course this week.
Bikeability levels 2 and 3 takes place on real roads and junctions, at training sites that have been selected against criteria for safe use. The training aims to enable the pupils to interact with live traffic under the supervision of trained instructors in situations of increasing complexity, commensurate with the skills they gain as the course progresses. As with any ‘on-road’ activity there remains some risk, with the need to keep children safe, balanced with the benefit of ensuring that the training equips pupils to cope with the real-life situations they will face on the road.
