On Monday Year 5 were visited by Hannah Mathieson who delivered a Road Safety Pedestrian training session. The session aims to deliver important Road Safety messages and information to Year 5 pupils, that will contribute towards their independent journeys and the journey transition they will make from year 6 to senior schools. The session was made up from two parts. There was a PowerPoint presentation where the children discussed subjects of being a safer pedestrian, cyclist and a passenger in vehicles.
The second part of the session was going outside the school grounds for 20 minutes max to discuss the environment hazards and risks such as driveways, parked cars, junctions and crossing the road.
